HRA-HASA apartment wanted

Description:

I am a student of news media at New School University. My ethnic background is Brazilian born in the Dominica Island while my mother was a blue collard worker for the Venezuelan Embassy. Thus I have been international and continued to be despite of being a proud New Yorker and US American citizen.

The area where I lived was affected by sandy and HRA pays 1100$ for a large 3 bedroom apartment. Public assistance’s rules have change and now that I have to move they want me to find a smaller apartment or studio for no more than that amount. I humbly ask that it preferably be in a building rather than a house, and that it it within a short distance to subways stations and small business. Not special request about heavenly-quiet, super-clean surroundings and "nice" neighbors. I either adapt to whatever is around me or ignore it all easily, no complaint, so long as it's not over the top harmful situation.

I understand that there’s a bad reputation with certain tenants coming from certain programs; I have one thing to say to real state agents and, specially to landlords and the hard working tax payers about their concerns: I do and will understand their caution in reply to ads like these ones.

Sometimes HRA is known to delays payments due to the clients not following up procedures or because of unlawful behaviors. At times is the landlord themselves who have to deal with property damages and misbehaviors. There’s no judgment in admitting these facts in a respectful and empirical manner.

That being said, landlord reading this ad will find out what HRA workers already know: I am not that kind of person. I come from living in other cultures where there’s no welfare, as it is here, for citizens of good standing much less for those with unlawful record and social behavior issues.

Thanking in advance your attention to my ad

Mr. Marte
