I'm looking for homes to rent in the following areas: New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Lutz and Land O'Lakes Florida. My situation is quite unique I believe. My wife and I rented for a landlord 5 years ago that refused to make repairs as agreed upon in the lease. We decided to go through the legal process of withholding the rent. While awaiting our court appearance the landlord filed for an eviction. We moved to a new place and had our issues settled in court. The eviction was thrown out and the case closed. We won the civil case and we're able to sue the landlord for attorney fees, court costs and relocation fees plus damages. Since this issue we have stopped using credit and mostly pay cash for our purchases. Needless to say we have low credit scores. Here is where things get tricky. Currently the place that we have been renting for four years is being sold and so our lease isn't being renewed. Now that we are in the market for a new place to rent, we find out that the judgement from 2010 eviction case is showing on our credit. It shows as a zero balance since we didn't owe anything and a judge decided that we were within our legal rights, however because it is showing we are having trouble finding anyone to rent to us. My wife and I make good money. Both over six figures in income. We both work in financial services. Her a W2 employee for one of the world's largest banking corporations and me a 1099 employee for a top tier financial advisory firm. We have until December 1st to be out of our current place. We are simple people and aren't looking for a golden fortress. We just need a nice clean place to call home. We prefer a 3bd 2ba place with at least 1600 Sq ft. However we know that beggars can't be choosers. Please help us locate a place. We don't want our young daughter to experience living life in a hotel.
